1. To administer payment of secondary derivative use fees (i.e., secondary/derivative royalties, reproduction license fees, “private” sound/visual recording fees).
2. To expand distribution opportunities and represent the interests of independent record labels across physical, web, and new media channels of the modern era.
3. To organize and support study groups and workshops pertaining to the management of copyrights for independent copyright holders (i.e., how to process a copyright trust)
4. On-going development of rights management policies for new methods of music sales and delivery.

 

 

 

1. Commence distribution of secondary use fees associated with units shipped since January 2006.
*We have successfully completed our trial period and have entered full-scale administration of secondary use fees as of 2007.
2. Rights negotiations with major third party copyright management organizations (such as JASRAC)
*As of April 1, 2004, JASRAC approved back-payment of royalties to IRIA members only. Payment for non-members have been approved thereafter.
3. Submission of member products (CDs) to the National Library
※To coordinate the submission of member products to the National Library.
Through our submission to the National Library, not only are these recordings preserved as cultural artifact, but they gain greater exposure domestically and internationally via the CD-ROM library and the National Library homepage. For details, please contact the main office.
4, Sponsor the exchanig of information
